I am stuck on the chinese embassy level. I have got to the point where I need to record the telephone call and no matter where I stand I can't pick it up clearly. I have tried to knock out the guards but that just starts a war. I have found the way out over the back fence so I just need to know how to record the call.

After listening to the guy who tells you what to do, take out the microphone laser and activate, this should zoom in, when zoomed in look toward the bottom left corner on the far wall and move the laser up the wall and you should see the lift going up.
